Mumbai, March 21 -- A total of 51,560 water supply schemes are being implemented in Maharashtra under the Jaljeevan Mission, state Minister Meghna Bordikar informed the Legislative Council on Friday.
Bordikar said Rs 32,000 crore is being spent on the scheme.
The minister said it is the government's role to ensure every house in the state gets pure and clean drinking water through taps.
Minister of State Bordikar was speaking while replying to the motion tabled under Rule 260.
Out of the total 1 crore 46 lakh 80 thousand households without tap connection in the state, 1 crore 30 lakh 73 thousand families have been given individual tap connections.
