New Delhi, Nov. 28 -- The release of India's industrial production numbers for October has been postponed to December 1, the government announced on Friday.
The data will now be issued on December 1 at 4 PM, instead of the earlier planned date of November 28, the Ministry of Statistics & Programme Implementation said in a statement issued here.
The change has been made so that the Index of Industrial Production (IIP) can be released on the same day as the GDP growth data for the July-September quarter.
The IIP measures how much the country produces in key sectors like manufacturing, mining, and electricity. It is usually released on the 28th of every month, or on the next working day if the 28th is a holiday.
