Tapovan (Dharamshala), Dec. 4 -- The Himachal Pradesh Assembly today passed the Real Estate Regulatory Authority (Himachal Pradesh) Amendment Bill, 2025, replacing the Chief Justice of the High Court with the state Chief Secretary as the Chairperson of the RERA Selection Committee.
The legislation was cleared by voice vote amidst strong objections and a walkout by Opposition BJP members.
The amended law provides for a three-member Selection Committee comprising the Chief Secretary as Chairperson, the Housing Secretary as Member-Convener, and the Law Secretary as Member.
