New Delhi, July 17 -- The Indian government continues to render all possible assistance to Kerala nurse Nimisha Priya, who is on a death row in Yemen, and is in touch with some ''friendly governments'' besides local authorities and family members to resolve the issue.

External Affairs Ministry spokesman Randhir Jaiswal said this is a ''very sensitive'' matter and the government of India has provided legal assistance and appointed a lawyer to assist the family.

''We have also arranged for regular consular visits by her family and we are also in touch with local authorities as also the family members to resolve this issue,'' the spokesman said.

This includes concerted efforts in the recent few days to seek more time for the family...
