Vijayawada, Nov. 6 -- Andhra Pradesh Minister for Agriculture K Atchannaidu has said the government has purchased Rs 18 crore worth of onion from farmers, assuring them of remunerative prices for the produce.
Talking to the media on Thursday, the Minister said the government purchased onions from the farmers at Rs 1,200 per quintal. The government had purchased Rs 18 crore worth of onion from farmers of which Rs 10 crore had already been credited into the accounts of farmers. The Minister said the rest of Rs 8 crore will be credited into the accounts of farmers soon.
