Patna, April 15 -- Bihar Deputy Chief Minister and agriculture minister Vijay Kumar Sinha said the government was committed to promoting horticulture and judicious use of water in agricultural activities.
Sinha said here on Tuesday that cultivation of fruit trees was being encouraged in the state under the Integrated Horticulture Development Mission.
Under this scheme, farmers were being provided up to 50 percent subsidy for cultivation of mango and litchi and up to 75 percent subsidy for banana and papaya. He said it will expand the horticulture sector in the state and farmers will get more profits from fruit cultivation.
