Bengaluru, Sept. 3 -- Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar today reiterated the state government's commitment to completing the World Bank 524 project at the earliest, stressing that farmers' consent and rehabilitation concerns would be given top priority.

Addressing reporters after a meeting with farmers, legislators, councillors and ministers from the Krishna water basin area, Shivakumar said the discussions revolved around the World Bank 524 award, judgments passed by the Supreme Court and High Court, issues of land acquisition, and modalities for completing the long-pending project.
