Aizawl, Feb. 19 -- Mizoram Governor General (Dr) Vijay Kumar Singh on Thursday extended warm greetings to the people of the state on the eve of Mizoram Statehood Day, describing the occasion as a celebration of peace, unity and shared progress.

In his message marking the 39th Statehood Day to be observed on February 20, the Governor recalled that Mizoram became the 23rd state of the Indian union on February 20, 1987,ushering in what he termed an era of peace, progress and prosperity.
