New Delhi, Sept. 26 -- The center plans to borrow Rs 6.77 lakh crore in the second half of fiscal year 2025-26 through dated securities, including Rs 10,000 crore through issuance of Sovereign Green Bonds (SGrBs), an official statement said today.
The Government of India is in consultation with Reserve Bank of India has finalized its borrowing programme for the second half (H2) of FY 2025-26.
'Sovereign Green Bonds (SGrBs)' refer to debt instruments issued by national governments to finance projects with a positive environmental impact, such as those promoting renewable energy, energy efficiency and climate resilience.
