Lucknow, Aug. 17 -- The Uttar Pradesh Government is advancing with an ambitious vision to develop and beautify the state's ancient temples by upgrading facilities for pilgrims and tourists, a state minister said here today.

Towards that end, Rs 45 crore has been sanctioned for projects aimed at the development, beautification, and provision of basic amenities at ancient temples located in rural parts of Gorakhpur.



The objective is to restore the grandeur of these revered shrines, provide better facilities to visitors, and position Gorakhpur as a major religious tourism destination.

Announcing the projects, Uttar Pradesh Tourism and Culture Minister Jaiveer Singh said: "Uttar Pradesh continues to lead the nation in religious tourism. ...
