California, July 25 -- Google revealed yesterday a USD 37 million package to support the spread of AI (artificial intelligence) throughout Africa. Besides fund allocation, the initiative also includes a first-of-its-kind 'AI community center' in Accra, Ghana.

At the launch program in Accra, James Manyika (Senior Vice President, Google) said, "Africa is the home to some of the most important and inspiring work in AI today. This country is not just using technology but helping us to build it."
