Chandigarh, Jan. 16 -- A young man who went viral for performing ablution at the sacred 'sarovar' (pond) of Sri Harmandir Sahib has come forward to apologise for his actions. The video, which circulated widely on social media, showed the youth sitting at the edge of the holy tank and rinsing his mouth, with some of the water unintentionally falling back into the sarovar.
Following the video's release, members of the Sikh community raised objections, calling the act a violation of the religious code of conduct. The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) said it would investigate the matter and review whether temple sewadars had followed their duty to prevent objectionable recording within the premises.
