Malappuram, May 8 -- Police in Kerala's Malappuram district have registered a case against two Indian union Muslim League (IUML) workers for allegedly beheading a goat and publicly displaying its severed head during post-election victory celebrations of the UDF in Tirur.

The accused were identified as Kurikkal Padi Machingal Rafi, Youth League Perunallur ward secretary and a functionary of the Triprangode panchayat committee, and Shoaib of Valparambil, Perunthallur, both reportedly associated with the IUML. Tirur Police initiated legal proceedings after videos of the incident surfaced on social media and triggered widespread public outrage.
