Mumbai/ Panaji, Dec. 9 -- A public interest litigation has been filed before the Goa bench of the Bombay High Court seeking a court-monitored SIT probe into the massive fire at a North Goa nightclub that claimed 25 lives last Saturday.
The petition alleges a systematic collapse of administrative supervision that enabled the establishment to operate illegally despite repeated violations.
The PIL has been filed by social activist Aishwarya Salgaonkar, who stated that the nightclub, Birch by Romeo Lane in Arpora, was functioning without a valid construction licence.
