Panaji, Dec. 9 -- In a major crackdown following the catastrophic fire that killed 25 people at the Birch by Romeo Lane nightclub in Arpora, the Goa government has ordered the immediate demolition of the nightclub and the owners' flagship property at Vagator.
Chief Minister Pramod Sawant directed the North Goa administration to raze the Romeo Lane shack at Vagator Beach, which was found operating illegally in violation of Coastal Regulation Zone (CRZ) norms.
Demolition teams were mobilised Tuesday evening, marking a decisive escalation in the state's response to one of Goa's worst hospitality disasters.
