Hyderabad, July 22 -- A groundbreaking international study has offered fresh insights into the genetic basis of obesity, particularly in South Asian populations, with vital contributions from researchers in Hyderabad.
Scientists from the CSIR-Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology (CSIR-CCMB), led by Dr Giriraj Ratan Chandak, played a pivotal role in shaping the understanding of how genetic factors influence obesity in Indians - a population that exhibits a distinct pattern of abdominal or central obesity compared to Europeans.
