New Delhi, Feb. 18 -- Former chief executive officer of Niti Aayog and G20 Sherpa Amitabh Kant on Tuesday said the Global South, including India, should build its own AI models based on local data to transform the lives of citizens.
While speaking during a panel discussion titled 'AI for India's Next Billion: Intergenerational Insights for Inclusive and Future-Ready Growth' at the India AI Impact Summit 2026, he said AI must be multilingual, accessible, affordable, and accountable.
