Mumbai, Sept. 30 -- In a move aimed at advancing the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047, the Maharashtra Cabinet, led by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, has approved the establishment of a Global Capability Centre.
The initiative is expected to attract foreign investment, encourage multinational collaboration, and generate 5 lakh new jobs.
The Cabinet also sanctioned an additional sales tax on industrial and commercial power consumers, while domestic connections will remain exempt. Revenue from this levy will fund the Pradhan Mantri Kusum Component-B and other schemes to provide electricity to agricultural pumps.
