Mumbai, Sept. 16 -- The retreating rains have wreaked havoc across the state, leaving farmers utterly devastated. Crops across nearly all regions have been destroyed; this entire kharif season has been wiped out, and farmers have been ruined.
"Yet, the Mahayuti government has no time to look at their plight. Even as farmers face this unprecedented crisis, but Devendra Fadnavis and not a single minister from his cabinet have uttered a word about providing relief" said Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee President Harshvardhan Sapkal today.
"Taking the gravity of this situation into account, the government should immediately provide 50,000 per hectare as compensation to farmers" he demanded.
