Madrid, Nov. 21 -- La Liga strugglers Girona have suffered a bad injury setback with the news that veteran forward Portu could miss the rest of the season with a probable torn cruciate knee ligament.

The 33-year-old, who has played in 10 of Girona's 12 matches this season, suffered the injury during Wednesday's training session, the club confirmed the injury on Thursday.

The injury is another setback for the club, which has suffered several important injuries this season, with veteran central defender David Lopez only making one appearance due to a muscle problem, while Dutch international Donny van de Beek will also miss the rest of the campaign after rupturing his Achilles tendon.
