Bengaluru, Feb. 14 -- A six-year old girl sustained a serious injury at a government school in Tumakuru district after two of her fingers were severed in an accident during the mid-day meal, her parents alleged, accusing school authorities of gross negligence.
The incident occurred on February 9 at Government Model Higher Primary School in Guluru village when the Class 1 student, Chinmayidevi, reportedly got her hand caught in the gap of an iron door while lining up for lunch.
According to her mother, GH Ambhika, the door was pushed from behind, leading to the amputation of two fingers..
The parents have alleged gross negligence on the part of school authorities, claiming the severed fingers were disposed of by staff.
