Giripremi's self-sustained expedition at Mt Dawa and Mt Samgyal
Pune, Aug. 19 -- Climbers belonging to Pune's leading mountaineering organisation Giripremi successfully scaled Mount Dawa in the remote Nubra Valley of Ladakh, while also climbing up to 5,770 meters on Mount Samgyal.
A team of 10 climbers participated in the expedition, led by Everest summiteer and Shiv Chhatrapati State Sports awardee Krishna Dhokale. The team was divided into two groups to attempt both peaks simultaneously.
The first group, led by Akhil Katkar, successfully reached the summit of Mount Dawa (5,814 meters). This team included Akhil Katkar, Ronak Singh, Chintamani Godbole, Kaushal Gadre, and Sahil Phadnis.
