Giridih, Oct. 9 -- In a crackdown on illicit liquor manufacturing, the Giridih district excise department conducted a large-scale raid in the Gawan police station area here today with the help of drone surveillance.
The operation led to the seizure of 7,400 kg of Java Mahua and 1,470 litres of illicit distilled liquor, exposing the extent of illegal brewing activities in the region.
The raid, led by Excise Sub-Inspector Ravi Ranjan, targeted multiple locations including Barmasiya Alagdih, Rajokhar, and Paniyay, where several illegal brewing units were operating.
The team destroyed brewing equipment, furnaces, and raw materials used in liquor production on-site.
