Aizawl, May 12 -- The ongoing closure of the Indo-Bangladesh border, prompted by escalating India-Pakistan tensions and political instability in Bangladesh, has severely disrupted ginger exports from Mizoram, according to Starfirm's chief executive officer, Malsawmi.
Speaking to reporters on Monday, Malsawmi said Bangladesh, being the largest importer of Indian ginger, plays a crucial role in the trade. The suspension of exports to the neighbouring country has not only posed immense challenges for exporters but has also led to a sharp decline in ginger prices across major markets.
