Hyderabad, Jan. 31 -- The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) Council on Saturday approved a budget of Rs 11,460 crore for the 2026-27 financial year, with a strong thrust on infrastructure development and strengthening the city's sanitation system.
Presenting the budget at the GHMC's 10th special council meeting, Mayor Gadwal Vijayalakshmi said her five-year tenure prioritised improving civic infrastructure, solid waste management, road and junction development, digitalisation of services and public health programmes to ensure better service delivery to citizens.
According to the budget details, GHMC projected an income of Rs 6,441 crore and an expenditure of Rs 4,057 crore, resulting in a revenue surplus of Rs 2,384 crore. Re...
