Mumbai, Dec. 5 -- Maharashtra had earlier approved a major plan to send 10,000 skilled workers and professionals to Germany for employment.

Under this government decision, students from various sectors were to be offered job opportunities in Germany, and a budgetary provision of rupees 70 crore was made to support the initiative.

The funds were earmarked for training candidates and preparing them for overseas employment.

The project involved manpower mobilised through departments such as Higher and Technical Education, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Industries, Agriculture and Medical Education.
