Berlin, May 8 -- Germany's police have detained a Lithuanian national who is suspected of killing two people in Turkey in November 2023, German broadcaster Bayerischer Rundfunk has reported.

The report cited the German federal police as saying on Tuesday that the 47-year-old suspect has been on the run since November 2023. The police identified the man during border control on Bundesautobahn 6, also known as Autobahn 6, near the municipality of Waidhaus in Bavaria, Germany, in a bus travelling from Prague to Munich.

Turkey has requested that the detained Lithuanian citizen be arrested and extradited, the report said.
