Berlin, Jan. 6 -- German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock will go on a Middle East tour on Sunday, which will be her fourth visit to the region since the escalation of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, German Foreign Ministry spokesman Sebastian Fischer said Friday.

"On Sunday, the foreign minister will go on a two-part tour: first, she will go to the Middle East and then to Southeast Asia," Fischer said at a cabinet press conference.

The trip will begin with a visit to Israel, where Baerbock will meet with the country's new Foreign Minister, Israel Katz, and President Isaac Herzog, then hold talks with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and Foreign Minister Riyadh al-Maliki.
