Jaipur, Jan. 25 -- Former Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Saturday opposed the idea of enacting the "disturbed area act" in the state and declared that the Congress will protest against the move that "will go in the history of the state as a shameful act".

The senior Congress leader said the BJP government is out to declare Rajasthan - the land of "Padharo Mahara Desh" (you are welcome in the state) as a "disturbed state".

The state has identity and worldwide popularity as the land of rich hospitality, brotherhood, harmonious social ties and inclusive culture, Gehlot said here in a statement.
