Thiruvananthapuram, Aug. 20 -- The 17th International Documentary and Short Film Festival of Kerala (IDSFFK), organised by the Kerala State Chalachitra Academy, will open with the Palestinian anthology film From Ground Zero.
The film, a collective work of 22 Palestinian directors, portrays the scars and resilience of life in Gaza under Israeli occupation. It will be screened at Kairali Theatre on August 22, 2025, at 6 p.m., following the festival's inaugural ceremony.
Curated by acclaimed filmmaker Rashid Masharawi-winner of the UNESCO Award at the 1994 Cannes Film Festival for Curfew-the anthology comprises documentaries, short films, and animations that reveal untold stories from the genocide unfolding in Gaza since October 2023.
