Shimla, Jan. 29 -- A blast triggered by a leaking butane gas cylinder rocked a private B&B hotel near the Gurudwara Sahib, close to the Old Bus Stand here late on Wednesday evening, causing panic among guests and minor injuries to one person.
According to preliminary information, the explosion occurred inside one of the hotel rooms occupied by tourists. The butane gas camping cylinder being used in the room reportedly developed a leak, causing gas to accumulate in the confined space.
The accumulated gas later ignited, resulting in a powerful blast that shattered windowpanes and damaged the room's ceiling. A young man sustained minor injuries after being hit by flying glass splinters and was given immediate medical assistance.
