Pune, Nov. 26 -- Following a series of vehicle vandalism incidents in Pune, that created panic, police swung into action and have taken firm action against the culprits.

The accused who belonged to a gang were publicly punished, paraded before the citizens, and forced to walk on their knees as part of the police's disciplinary measure.

Two days earlier, around 20 to 25 vehicles were vandalised in the Fursungi area. The entire incident was captured on CCTV.

Members of a koyta (sickle-wielding) gang were seen damaging four-wheelers and rickshaws in Adarsh Nagar, Fursungi. Shockingly, the gang also shouted slogans while destroying the vehicles.
