Mumbai, Jan. 26 -- Maharashtra Forest Minister Ganesh Naik on Monday called for restraint in political discourse, stating that no one should indulge in politics by erecting walls of religion or caste.

Addressing a public programme in Palghar district, Naik, a BJP MLA, said recent statements about "making areas green" should not be dragged into legal controversies.

Naik expressed displeasure over the political debate surrounding the colour green that has intensified across Maharashtra in recent days. He said those who wish to engage in politics should do so without invoking religious or caste identities, emphasising that such divisions only harm social harmony.
