Vijayawada, Sept. 1 -- The Ganesh immersions turned tragic in the West Godavari and ASR districts as six people were killed in two accidents.
Police said that when a Ganesh immersion procession was being carried out at Torrputalla village in Mogaltur mandal in West Godavari district last night, a tractor ploughed through the procession, killing four persons and injuring five others.
The tractor driver drove the vehicle in a reckless and rash manner, resulting in it ploughing through the crowd, an eyewitness told the media.
The deceased were identified as Tirumala Narasimha Murthy (35), Guruju Murali (38), Kadiyam Dinesh (9) and Eemana Suryanarayana (58). The injured were admitted to the area hospital in Narasaraopet. Government Whip and ...
