Thiruvananthapuram, Feb. 17 -- The use of Mahatma Gandhi's image on beer cans and bottles by a Russian-based 'Rewort Brewery' has courted controversy as Russian President Vladimir Putin and Russian Ambassador in India Denis Alipov have been urged to take up the matter with the liquor manufacturer.
In a letter to the Russian authorities, Eby J Jos, Chairman of Mahatma Gandhi National Foundation, has termed the act of Rewort Brewery using a photo and signature of Mahatma Gandhi to sell their products as disrespectful, insulting and improper conduct from the company side.
