Gadchiroli, Sept. 15 -- Gadchiroli Police have arrested a Naxalite, identified as Shankar Bhima Mahaka (32), wanted in multiple serious crimes including murder, arson and IED blasts, a senior police official said.
According to the official, Mahaka, a resident of Parayanar village in Bhamragad, was an active member of the Bhamragad Dalam and carried a reward of Rs 2 lakh announced by the state government.
Mahaka was involved in burning 19 vehicles engaged in road construction between Dhorraj and Irpanar in January 2022, causing losses of nearly Rs 2 crore. He is also accused in the murder of a civilian in Pengunda village and is wanted in a case under investigation by the National Investigation Agency (NIA).
