Patna, July 7 -- The voter list special revision (SIR) underway in Bihar has sparked political turmoil, with the opposition Grand Alliance (GA) raising serious concerns over the Election Commission's (EC) procedures.
Demanding suspension of SIR till the upcoming assembly elections, leader of opposition in Bihar assembly Tejashwi Prasad Yadav, accompanied by senior leaders of the GA, alleged that the EC was issuing contradictory directives regarding furnishing of the documents for the purpose.
The RJD leader told media here today that initially people were told that documents could be submitted later, but now July 25 has been fixed as a deadline. New orders were being released every hour, creating confusion and distrust among the people, ...
