New Delhi, Sept. 5 -- The Central Bureau of Investigation today said that they have brought back the fugitive criminal Harshit Babulal Jain to India from the United Arab Emirates.

Jain was wanted by Gujarat Police in a case involving serious financial crimes, including tax evasion, operating an illegal gambling operation and money laundering.

The operation was a coordinated effort between the CBI, the Gujarat Police and the ministries of External and Home Affairs. The CBI, acting as India's National Central Bureau for INTERPOL, had a Red Notice published for Jain in 2023 based on the request from Gujarat authorities. This notice alerted law enforcement agencies worldwide to his status as a wanted fugitive.
