Chennai, Oct. 22 -- The loading of the fuel in India's first 500MW Prototype Fast Breeder Reactor (PFBR) in Kalpakkam, near Chennai, through the alternate route is progressing, with one assembly already loaded, said several sources in the know. "The fuel loading began about four-five days ago. One fuel assembly has been loaded. The loading is done through an alternate fuel handling system as the original system has encountered some technical problem," said sources in the Indian nuclear power sector.
