New Delhi, May 26 -- Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri will be on a three-day visit to Washington, from May 27, during which he will meet with senior officials of the US Administration.

The visit is a follow up to Prime Minister Modi's visit to the United States in February 2025, when both sides had launched the India-US COMPACT (Catalysing Opportunities for Military Partnership, Accelerated Commerce & Technology) for the 21st Century, a statement said.

The visit comes as an all-party delegation from India briefed US officials on Operation Sindoor and on Pakistan's role in fomenting cross-border terrorism.

The visit also comes as India and the US are firming up a trade deal.
