Aizawl, Jan. 13 -- Mizoram Chief Minister Lalduhoma on Tuesday inaugurated a Ginger Processing Unit at the Sairang Horticulture Centre, positioning the northeastern state for alarger role in India's spice economy.
The facility has been set up under the Handholding Scheme of the Mizoram Agricultural Marketing Board (MAMB) and is aimed at strengthening processing, procurement and organised marketing of ginger-an increasingly important crop for the state's rural economy.
Speaking at the inauguration, Lalduhoma said the new unit reflected long-pending aspirations beginning to take shape on the ground.
