London, Dec. 23 -- English comedian-actor Russell Brand's mounting legal troubles have taken a sharper turn, with British authorities bringing two further charges of rape and sexual against him, significantly broadening the scope of the case.

The Metropolitan Police said the latest charges pertain to two further women and come in addition to earlier allegations that include multiple counts of rape, oral rape, indecent assault and sexual assault. He is expected to appear in a London court on January 20, 2026 in connection with the latest charges, while his trial for the earlier allegations is scheduled to begin six months later.
