Bhubaneswar, Aug. 16 -- A fresh low-pressure area is likely to form over the Northwest and adjoining West-Central Bay of Bengal, triggering heavy rainfall across Odisha for the next five days, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said in its latest bulletin.

The existing low-pressure system over South Odisha and adjoining North Andhra Pradesh has now moved to South Chhattisgarh and its neighbourhood.

The associated upper-air cyclonic circulation extends up to 7.6 km above mean sea level and tilts southwestwards with height.

It is expected to move west-northwestwards, gradually weaken, and reach Gujarat around the morning of August 18 as a remnant cyclonic circulation.
