Jammu, July 12 -- A fresh batch of 6639 pilgrims of Shri Amarnath Yatra left for the holy cave shrine amid the chants of 'Bam Bam Bhole' here from Bhagwati Nagar based Yatri Niwas.

Officials said that the pilgrims left from the Jammu base camp in a fleet of 275 vehicles. "A fresh batch of 6639 pilgrims this morning left for Shri Amarnath Yatra cave shrine in Kashmir from Jammu base camp amid tight security arrangements," they added.

They said that 4302 pilgrims left for Pahalgam and 2337 for Baltal in a fleet of 275 vehicles comprising Light Motor Vehicles and Heavy Motor Vehicles.

Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on July 2 flagged off the first batch of pilgrims from here.
