Thoubal, Jan. 16 -- Manipur, widely regarded as the powerhouse of women's football in India, has added another grassroots initiative to its rich sporting legacy with the launch of the Ashalata Devi Football Festival (ADFF), a free football camp for young girls in Yairipok, Thoubal district.

A five-day festival, being held from January 14 to 18, is organised as a pilot programme in the State with the support of the Aditi Chauhan Foundation and The Hub of Culture. The initiative is exclusively designed for girls aged 7 to 12 years and aims to encourage early participation while providing access to structured football training at the grassroots level.
