Washington/Paris, July 16 -- Amid the US' plan on resuming weapon supplies to Ukraine via European countries who must purchase the weapons and supply them to Ukraine, France has backed off from the proposal, stating it has no intention in purchasing US weapons for Ukraine, and instead is trying to strengthen its own domestic defence industry, reports Politico.
While the UK and Germany were among the most eager nations to participate in the venture, France was not mentioned when NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte listed countries ready to take part in the initiative to purchase US weapons for Ukraine at a meeting with US President Donald Trump.
