Hyderabad, Feb. 24 -- In a major setback to the banned CPI (Maoist), four senior leaders, including a Politburo Member and a Central Committee Member, surrendered before the Telangana Police and joined the mainstream here on Tuesday, taking the total number of Maoist cadres who have laid down arms since 2024 to 591 in the state, according to Director General of Police B Shivadhar Reddy.
Those who surrendered were Politburo Member and Central Committee Member Tippiri Thirupati alias Devuji alias Kumma Dada, Central Committee Member Malla Raji Reddy alias Sangram, Telangana State Committee Secretary Bade Chokka Rao alias Damodar alias Jagan, and State Committee Member Nune Narsimha Reddy alias Ganganna alias Sannu Dada.
