Chennai, July 22 -- In yet another incident, four fishermen from Tamil Nadu were today arrested by the Sri Lankan Navy personnel for allegedly fishing in their territorial waters by crossing the International Maritime Boundary Line (IMBL).

The fishermen hailed from Rameswaram in Ramanathapuram district.

While they were fishing in high seas, the Lankan Navy personnel intercepted them and arrested them.

They were taken to Sri Lanka along with their mechanised trawler and remanded in custody.

The growing incidents of frequent arrests of TN fishermen by the Lankan Navy personnel has caused serious heartburn among the fishing community, as it affects their livelihood and wanted both the Central and state governments to take concrete steps...
