Moscow, March 5 -- Four militants have been neutralised during a counterterrorism operation in the Russian republic of Dagestan, the Russian National Anti-Terrorism Committee said on Wednesday.

Earlier in the day, the administration of Makhachkala, the republic's capital, imposed the counterterrorism operation regime in the town of Semender after perpetrators opened fire on road patrol officers. Then they tried to flee and ended up blocked on the outskirts of the town.
