Nahan, Nov. 26 -- Four prisoners serving life sentences have been released from the Model Central Jail, Nahan, under the state government's premature release policy.
The jail administration confirmed that recommendations for six life convicts had been forwarded to the State Sentence Review Board after they completed 14 years of imprisonment with clean conduct.
According to prison officials, recommendations for premature release are processed only for those life convicts who have served a minimum of 14 years and maintained exemplary conduct during incarceration. In the present case, six such names from Nahan jail were forwarded to the State Sentence Review Board.
